CAROLYN MADDEN - PRINCIPAL
(ARAD - Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance)
Carolyn's
formal dance training was at the renowned Ransley School of Dance,
under the tuition of Dawn and Joy Ransley in Sydney.
During her
time at Ransleys, Carolyn progressed through the grades in RAD ballet
and BBO (British Ballet Organisation) Tap, and successfully competed in
eisteddfods and performed in children's television shows on the ABC,
seven and nine networks.
The studio was established in 1970, and
during the past 30 years many its students have gone on to the
Australian Ballet School, Blue Bells Paris, The Asian Circuit, The
Victorian College of the Arts, University of Western Sydney as well as
musical theatre.
A hands on teacher, Carolyn advocates that every
student - regardless of their skill level, receives the same
attention, commitment and opportunities to achieve their dance
orientated goals and personal development. This has led to Carolyn's
Dance Academy becoming well regarded by the entertainment industry and
by colleagues alike.
Carolyn
is also in high demand as an adjudicator throughout Australia, due to
her broad knowledge of all styles of dance and understanding of
children.
The studio also uses several highly trained guest
teachers to keep up to date with all the latest trends and styles
including Sharilee Brown, who is a former ballet principal with
the Queensland Youth Ballet and graduate of the Victorian College of
the Arts.
Sharilee also danced professionally within independent contemporary dance companies in Melbourne and Europe.
